We are currently utilising Steve and the Your Building Broker services with regards to our new home project. We have been extremely pleased with the service offered to date.
We came to Your Building Broker with a reasonable idea of what we wanted in our minds and a list of requirements in our house design but not a lot of information on paper of sketches to go by. Steve went through a detailed process to capture our requirements and with us having a few simple pictures of styles we liked we sent him away to see what he could come up with. Our design was made all the more complex as we had an odd shaped block, easements which could not be built on, and views we wanted to make the most of. Our budget was also very tight for our requirements and for an individual design which made it even more difficult.
The first design that Steve came back with was exceptionally close to the perfect design and was better than we could have imagined. We came up with a few tweaks and Steve suggested some minor changes that would lead to cost savings and by the time our second design drawings came back we had our perfect design. We had originally thought that we would have been a long time in this process trying to get our vision across.
We then thought that we may have some troubles in getting past Shire planning with some of the changes we requested to put in but the way the plans were presented and with Steves follow up work meant that the council passed our plans without any changes required.
Steve has facilitated a number of quotes for the building of our house and we are just working through this stage now. We have been impressed with the quality of builders that have quoted and are close to selecting our preferred option. Steve has been invaluable to compare the quotes from the various builders to help us understand what the differences in the quotes include and exclude to enable us to compare them on a like for like basis. This is where Steve’s experience in the building industry and in the costing and scheduling components in particular have been very useful.
To add further credence to my testimonial I am heavily involved in the residential building industry with many close contacts (through my business that sells software to these companies). Steves knowledge and enthusiasm towards the project have been second to none and puts him in the top handful of people that I have dealt with in this industry Australia wide.
